Here are my ideas on how to develop cities and small countries from the economy to governance.

  • The US has about 3 KW peak capacity per person 1,072.46 GW, ~330 million people
  • It uses about 4,171 TWh a year divided by 8760 hours in a year is 476 GWh/ hour
    • That’s about 1.5 kWh per person
    • Capacity Factor of 0.444
  • Need about 1 kW capacity per person to start out with capacity factor around 0.444
  • Switch over to electric bikes for most travel
    • which get 50-100 miles / kWh
    • swappable batteries so they charge when solar and wind are up
    • state sponsored EV battery charing on their wind grid and if necessary NG
  • Have some state owned offshore wind and natural gas baseline
  • Then invest in community solar and water where each house buys 1 kW per person in their home
    • At $1 / watt that’s $1,000 per person and it can be financed over 10-20 years
    • 1 MW solar farms, 1000 people 300-500 homes
    • Make it so the panels can be stored or protected during natural disasters
  • Can get aid to allow people to purchase technology to allow for community grey water recycling, rainwater harvesting, septic, and wifi, solar, and ebike.
    • Have to get them to purchase it to support local manuafcaturing and construction
    • 1 kW per person
      • $1,000 one time investment
    • 1 gallon a day per person treated greywater
      • Use Hydraloop for Calc
    • 7 gallons rainwater storage per person (gallon per person for a week)
      • $0.50 / gal for rainwater tanks plus pumps
    • 4 composting toilets per 100 people
      • Look up
    • 1 WiFi / internet tower per 1000 people
      • Look up
    • 1 Ebike per household
      • $500 for a cheap one
  • Create a recycling industry
    • Encourage Reuse
      • Have stations where people return unbroken glass, cans, electronics food containers, etc
      • Pay by container
    • Charge per ton for trash and per ton by quality for recycle
      • Charge really high per ton cost of trash by community then split it
      • Separate recycle charges by type and by ton
        • If its high quality no charge
        • Have tiers that increase in charge per ton with lower quality
        • Construction waste has per ton charge less than trash
        • Make them take household ceramics and charge less than trash
    • Recycle plastic (3 kinds)
      • Food grade heavy duty container
        • Replaces most food containers
        • Also some products will be shipped In this type
      • Lids and Utensils and most product packaging
        • Lighter weight but still stronger than most single use types
        • This way the utensils and lids can now be recycled
      • Plastic Bags and the small loose plastics
        • The plastic bags will be thicker so they can be recycled like HEB
        • The other plastics is to keep it out trash and hopefully can be mixed
    • Metals, Paper, Cardboard, Rubber, and Glass
      • Most of this will be from households so same cleaning process
      • Should be easy to separate
      • Shouldn’t have quality issues, though glass might
      • Encourage paper/cardboard based carry out food containers
    • Electronics and Heavier Metals
      • These should be higher quality goods not thrown out regularly
    • Ceramics and Construction
      • For heavy duty concrete, ceramics, bricks etc.
    • Compost food
      • Encourage composting maybe buy dirt high in fertilizer
  • Manufacture goods when they are hot instead of cooling them into rods or breaking them down to basic feedstock chemicals
    • Make new cans
    • Bottles
    • Small parts for machines
    • Concrete reinforcements
    • Strong metal or concrete Poles for turbines or other large structures
    • Frames for PVs
    • Parts for ebike or the ebikes themselves ebikes themselves
    • Furniture
    • Food Containers
    • Clothes
    • Fertilizer
    • Etc. (see housing for more ideas)
  • Implement regenerative agriculture and crop rotation with cover crops on plots for food
  • Aggregate houses so they share water resources
    • Rainwater harvesting on each roof
    • Hydraloop like tech shared between houses to clean and reuse greywater
    • Composting toilet or similar technology to deal with waste
  • Housing
    • Basic design that can be cheaply built but is reasonably insulated
    • Pipes organized for separation of clean, grey, and black water
    • Electricity managed by a system for DER integration
    • Heat pump can cool and heat entire house, works with grid peak times
    • Manufacturing home, but assembled on site and easily customizable
    • Variable hot water heater for thermal energy storage
    • Stained concrete floors from recycled building materials
    • Wood houses from manufactured recycled wood
    • Metal roofs from recycled metal
    • Pipes and conduit from recycled plastic and metal
    • Glass from recycled glass
  • Banking
    • Lots of Small Loans
    • Switch from compound interest model to payment and effective interest model
    • Loan statements must show all loan payments including how much goes to principal and how much goes to interest
    • At every payment the principal must go down and the amount paid in interest must go down
    • The effective interest is calculated after all the above terms are met
    • Missed payments do not add to the principal until the borrower is behind 10% of the total repayment.
      • Then after the next missed or low payment the loan is considered in default
      • And the sum of the missed amount is added to the principal
      • Otherwise the borrower can keep making payments as normal
      • However, at the end of the term any remaining amount must be paid in a year, no additional interest
      • If it is not paid in a year, It is added to principal and any other low or non paymens are considered default
    • Example: 1,000 loan, for 12 months.
Principal Principal Payment Interest Payment Principal Principal Payment Interest Payment
$1000 20 80 585 95 5
$980 25 75 490 96 4
$955 91 9 394 97 3
$864 92 8 297 98 2
$772 93 7 199 99 1
$679 94 6 100 100 0
  • Total Principal Paid: $1,000, total Interest Paid: $200, Interest Rate: 20%
    • Wouldn’t default until $120 worth of payments were short
  • Government for Developing Countries
    • A framework that follows traditional systems but introduces some democratic and republican principles and allows for the introduction of common law and a bill of rights, but also allows for quick change and adaptation
    • People elect representatives for local, province, and national
      • Smaller countries can ignore province
    • Simple digital voting system, where you enter your zipcode and ID and your options are before you with links to candidates websites
    • Those representatives appoint a mayor, governor, and president / prime minster from among the party with a plurality, the whole congress gets to approve the appointee but they cannot reject all of members of a party otherwise that party gets to choose no with no restrictions
    • Representatives serve for 2 or 4 years, with staggering terms as necessary
    • The appointed leader organizes his own bureaucracy as needed with no restrictions from any other member
    • The leader brings laws to session and then voting as a legislative body they are then sent to the executive
    • The leader also oversees judge appointments
      • Judges serve terms twice as long as the representatives.
      • They have to be reappointed or replaced when their terms expire
    • The executive can be elected by the people or be a body like a religious body that has a moral authority.
      • The executive has to review bills within 3 days and either veto, approve, or abstain.
      • After 3 days they are said to have abstain and the law goes through.
      •  Their veto can be overwritten by a simple majority if they are unelected like a religious body or 3/5 if they are elected.
      • Their veto is mostly a moral check or to ensure majorities don’t abuse their power
    • The executive is also in charge of appointing the highest court of their power.
      • They have to be approved by the legislative body with a simple majority
      • They serve lifetime terms
      • There have to be an odd number of them and more than 1
      • The size is decided by the legislative body
      • but it must be more than 10 legislators to 1 judge and
      • more than 4 lower judges to 1 high judge.
      • If the executive and legislative branch don’t agree on a judge then all cases refer to the lower court and no judges are appointed
    • The elected leader of legislative must at least 5 cabinent members so combination of the ones below.
      • Secretary of State (trade with other countries, foreign policy, not needed for lower levels)
      • Treasury (banking, loans, monopolies)
      • Defense (military, diaster relief,  police, fire, EMS)
      • Public Service (police, fire, EMS, doctors, etc.) for local levels
      • Infrastructure (airports, roads, bridges, parks, housing)
      • Economy (ag,, commerce, labor, manufacturing in one)
      • Health and human services (medical, mental, basic needs)
      • More can be appointed as necessary
      • The extra departments can be shut down but must be done so explicitly
      • All appointments, new positions, and the shut down of old ones must be approved by the legislature
    • Citizen App
      • Go to registrar where they give you a password and fingerprint access
      • You can change password but it can only be reset at the registrar
      • You can also vote for your representatives and refredums via app
        • Only if you can verify with password and finger print
      • Public Info
        • Name
        • City and District Rep
        • Owned Businesses
        • Government Approved Licenses or Certifications
        • If you are of drinking or smoking age
      • Private Info
        • Tax and Wage information
        • Assets Owned (not businesses)
        • Date of Birth, City
      • Government Data
        • Your representatives
        • The executives
        • Your mayor, governor, prime minister
        • The cabinets of the legislative and executives
        • The budgets of every cabinet member
        • What laws were voted on
          • Must have description 2 lines or less of the law and what it does
        • Has a check mark if your rep voted for it and a thumbs up if the executive approved it and vice versa
        • Any local parades or gatherings that have permits
  • Establishment in countries Under Unrest
    • Take over cities and isolate them from the countryside
      • Start with cities over 1 MM, then 500k, then 100k, so on
    • Clear out one area of the city and starve out the other side
      • Jam all telecommunications and cut power and supply lines
      • Drop newspapers, propaganda, and surrender instructions off with the aid
      • Allow surrendering at certain times where they are subject to search and disarmament
      • Ensure international aid is allowed to the non-combatants as required by UN to avoid war crimes
      • Melt down all vehicles and weapons as acquired
      • Make a buffer zone that if crossed means termination by drone
        • Try to avoid woman and children
      • Disarm the town
      • Get rid of all vehicles are large or can travel faster than 30 mph
      • This is a patient process but inexpensive and allows integration of new system
    • Control roads between cities but ignore rural areas and small villages
      • Create buffer zone where anyone in it is fair game for drone strikes
    • Declare travel to the countryside illegal except at certain times
      • Subject all travelers through checkpoints
    • Separate woman and children under 15 from men
      • Men especially young men are responsible for most crime and unrest and are generally the soldiers
      • Middle aged men while generally less violent are also battered but have more power over the woman
      • Separating woman from mens influence and giving them power over themselves and their country is a must and it needs time to take
    • Let men vote or choose a body to represent them in the executive branch
      • Gives them a say in the process but with limited actual power
    • Quickly allow the infirmed and elderly to integrate back with the woman and children
    • Jobs
      • Woman do all service jobs: teaching, EMT, hold office
      • Only woman can vote for 1 year and the second year only woman can hold office
      • Woman are also the only ones that can own business and land
      • Men are responsible for manufacturing and farming and wage jobs
    • Woman can visit men but only during the day, and first only weekend days
      • Allow sporting events for woman, kids, and integrated men woman run the event and are of course allowed to attend
      • Introduce Family Planning and woman’s rights
    • Create a recycling program for all materials
    • Start with local government only
    • Then integrate province and national
    • The process is over when 2/3 – ¾ of the voting age citizens in a country are given new IDs and have been integrated into the new system
